Certification Process

At DuraEdge, we believe that ceramic tableware should be both beautiful and durable. That's why we offer a rigorous certification process to ensure that your tableware meets our standards for quality, durability, and safety.

Application

The first step in the certification process is to submit an application for certification. This application includes basic information about your company and the ceramic tableware products you wish to have certified.

2

Testing

After we receive your application, we will conduct a series of tests on your ceramic tableware products to determine if they meet our standards for quality and durability. These tests may include:

  • Vitrification testing to ensure that the tableware is fully vitrified and will not absorb moisture or bacteria.

  • Crazing testing to ensure that the glaze will not crack or craze over time.

  • Metal release testing to ensure that the tableware does not release harmful metals into food or drink.

  • Weight testing to ensure that the tableware is a suitable weight for its intended use.

  • Edge chip resistance testing to ensure that the tableware can withstand everyday use without chipping or breaking.

  • Glaze resistance testing to ensure that the tableware's glaze is resistant to scratching and wear.

  • Glaze durability testing to ensure that the tableware can withstand repeated washing in a dishwasher or by hand.

  • Thermal shock endurance testing to ensure that the tableware can withstand sudden changes in temperature without cracking or breaking.

3

Certification

If your ceramic tableware products pass all of our tests, we will issue a certificate of certification. This certificate confirms that your tableware meets our standards for quality, durability, and safety.

4

Ongoing Compliance

To maintain your certification, you will need to comply with ongoing testing requirements. We will work with you to schedule regular testing to ensure that your ceramic tableware products continue to meet our standards.
